Nepal

Nepal’s teas are fruity, delicate, refreshing, fragrant and have a distinct Muscatel character.

Sound familiar? Well, yes – Nepal’s teas are often mistaken for Darjeelings, and like Darjeeling there are four flushes – 1st, 2nd, monsoon and autumnal.
Andrew Gadsden, the Saviour of Tea, is extremely fond of Nepalese teas and it is a safe bet that here at Rye Bay Tea we will be increasing our range of these fantastic and little-known teas in the near future!

Nepal Fikal, Ilam

From Nepal’s Himalayas, this is a high-grown tea of exceptional quality and
flavour, similar in character to a Darjeeling. With a fruity, slightly peppery
aroma and flavour, this a wonderfully sophisticated and well-structured tea. A
great introduction to a tea region that is just beginning to get the recognition
it deserves.

Nepalese Himalayan Mountain Tea

Nepal’s climate is ideal for growing tea. This tiny, breathtakingly beautiful
kingdom lies between 3000 and 7000 feet above sea level. Its steep, well-
drained, mineral-rich soils, pure unpolluted mountain air and water, and moist,
cool climate favour the production of small quantities of high-quality tea. This
is a high-grown TGFOP1 tea, with a brisk and rounded flavour and a bright
liquor.

The pictures are decorative and  not accurate representations of the teas.
